Easter Cards
Or, “How I Spent my 2020 Lockdown”
March 2020: While everyone else bought toilet paper, I bought paint.
(Don’t worry, we already had enough TP at home)
When the world shut down, I had to decide what was really important: BEAUTY. I bought cardstock and paints, and started making Easter cards. 117 Easter cards, in white and gold, each written by hand, each individually inscribed and addressed.
The basic text of my Easter card that year: a short passage from St. John Chrysostom's Paschal homily. Well... it seems short until you have to write 117 of them, anyway!
Just because I do something in large numbers doesn't mean I forget the personal touch! Every single card was addressed by name.
Yes, I really wrote 117 of them. As you can see at the top, I eventually ran out of black cardstock and had to improvise. No matter. Nothing gets in the way of Easter beauty! Nothing.
Another view of the "full set," before I added the names of the recipients.
